Scrollwork Art Nouveau-Inspired Dog Collar Sterling Silver and Labradorite 13 inches by 2 inches Custom-Designed Piece - Private Collection Inspiration: Dog collars have fallen out of fashion, but in the Art Nouveau period, they were all the rage. One of my inspirations has always been Sarah Bernhardt, the muse of jeweler Rene Lalique and artist Alphonse Mucha. In many photos, Sarah wears dog collars in combination with long, rambling chains. I wanted to create a piece for a very special friend, and out of that wish came this necklace. It is truly striking and I loved wearing it for the few days I could before I put it in the mail! As this necklace is in a private collection, I do not own it. But I would love to make another one! Interested in a necklace like this one? Please email me at patience.meliora@gmail.com |
